It's Official: Welcome to our Pastor-Elect, Ryan Groh!
On April 29, 2025, Ryan Groh was officially assigned as the next pastor of St. John's Lutheran Churches Babbtown and Schubert!
Ryan Groh graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN, on May 23.
Ryan is from Oklahoma City, OK, and completed his vicarage at Faith Lutheran Church in Capistrano, CA. He married his wife Grace in 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbia, MO – where Grace's father Rev. Brian Thieme serves as pastor.
Keep Candidate Groh and Grace in your prayers – as well as the other called candidates from our seminaries, the churches receiving candidates, and those churches whose requests for candidates will not be filled.
As Jesus said to his disciples: “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38)

St. John's Lutheran Church was founded in 1844 by German Lutherans in the tiny community of Schubert, organized in 1869, and built in 1889.
