There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. Ecclesiastes 3:1
This Old Testament Scripture is shared as a reminder to every person and community that things in this life begin and end. And yet things keep going. There is a time for everything.
The end of summer has lots of reminders of this. The sun is quickly fading away in the evenings. Soon it will be cooling off. Routines begin with school starting. And churches resume activities on the calendar.
Jesus was promised in the Old Testament, and then he came. He lived and then he died on a cross. His death was really a beginning for us of resurrection and life. When we put our time into the hands of our Savior, he promises to use our time for his glory, and to give us an eternity that never ends.
Make time for yourselves to worship, come to Bible Classes, Sunday School, Youth and midweek, special activities that are beginning at St. John’s. This is the season for God’s love and grace in Christ under the heavens.
